Narmada District, Gujarat

The district of Narmada in the State of Gujarat gets its name from the holy river Narmada that passes through it. It was one of the six districts in the State that were formed on 2nd October, 1997. It lies in the eastern corner of the State and is its third least populous district. It has the distinction of being home to the Statue of Unity that is a major tourist attraction. Goes without saying that it has many religious places of pilgrimage also that add to its tourism economy.

Via Airports - Vadodara is the nearest airport from Narmada, at a distance of 75 km from Rajpipla. It connects the district with various parts of the District as well as the Country. 

Via Railways - The closest railway station is Bharuch at a distance of 61 km. The district comes under the Western Railway Zone of the Indian Railways.

Via Roadways - GSRTC ( Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation ) runs various buses connecting the district towns, villages and other cities of the state and the country. Major highways like the NH 48 and the State Highway No. 11 pass through the district.
