Bani is a scenic and unspoiled valley and is the most prominent attraction in the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. The Bani valley remains covered with ice and is also known as the “Mini Kashmir of India”. This glaciated valley is situated at an elevation of around 4200 ft in the lap of lofty mountains. The Sewa River flows near the valley and is known as the major water source in the nearby areas. The climatic conditions of the Bani experience the polar and temperate types. The main climatic phenomenon of the Bani Valley is the moist summer and severe winter. The Bani Valley has become a favorite site for adventurers and travelers because travelers would discover the various waterfalls, noisy streams, beautiful and vast meadows, and thick forests. It is also the base camp for the trekkers from Chamba, Bhaderwah, and many other destinations.

Kathua district is linked with the neighboring towns and cities in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Buses towards the Bani Valley could be boarded from the neighboring districts of Katra, Udhampur, Jammu, and Srinagar. Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (J&KSRTC) bus services are also available for this site which is quite reasonable in price. Public transport or taxi services are also available to reach Bani from Kathua District. Kathua district has its railway station that is situated at a distance of around 7 kilometers away from the city center. Sheikh Ul Alam Airport which is commonly known as Srinagar Airport is the nearest International Airport to the Kathua District. The Pin Code for the Bani Valley is 184206.
