Bundi District, Rajasthan

 The district of Bundi lies in the Southeastern part of the state of Rajasthan. It is one of the most ancient places dating back to the 14th century. It was a princely state of the Hada Chauhans and is named after its founder, Bunda Meena, a tribal king. Today it leads in tourism due to its innumerable historical, royal palaces, forts, and other monuments like Chhatris with carved pillars, step wells etc. The walls of the palaces and forts are adorned with exquisite muralsIt has a rich and varied culture with life seeped in folk music, songs, celebrations and exuberance. Religious places abound with various temples and a couple of temples situated in the middle of the Nawal Sagar lake. Wildlife sanctuaries, places of natural beauty and majestic waterfalls attract both the domestic and international visitors to the district.
