Rajkot District, Gujarat

 The district of Rajkot lies in the Saurashtra peninsular region in the State of Gujarat. It is the third most advanced district and the fourth most populous district in the State. It is economically well developed along with being an educational and industrial hub. It also has the fourth Stock Exchange which is linked with the Bombay, New Delhi and Kolkata Exchanges. Historically the district is important in that Mahatma Gandhi had his home in Rajkot City right from his childhood. The district is full of life and vigour and the people here are very lively with much interest in food, music, dance and culture.

The district has a domestic airport at Rajkot city, which operates domestic flights to major cities of the State and the Country such as Vadodara, Bhuj, Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Jamnagar

Via Railways

The city of Rajkot and most of its nearby municipal cities are connected to the rest of the country via the broad gauge Western Railway network of the Indian Railways.

Via Roadways - The district is connected via GSRTC ( Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation ) runs various buses connecting the district towns, villages and other cities of the state and the country. Many National Highways and State Highways pass through the district.
