Banswara District, Rajasthan

 The district of Banswara, often referred to as the Cherrapunji of the State of Rajasthan lies in its Southern region. Named after Bans ( बांस ) due the abundance of Bamboo trees, it has also been called the City of a Hundred Islands. Majorly inhabited by the Bhil tribals, it's district headquarters is the Greenest City in the State. The district is full of natural beauty with various waterfalls surrounding it.


The Tropic of Cancer passes through it.
