Porbandar District, Gujarat

 The district of Porbandar in the state of Gujarat was carved out of the district of Junagadh on the 15th of February, 1948. It is in the Kathiawar peninsula region and is most famous for being the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. It finds mention in the Indian Epic Mahabharata as the native place of Lord Krishna's childhood friend Sudama. Its economy is majorly based on Agriculture, Tourism, Import and Export as it is a port district, apart from being home to many small scale industries.

How to reach :-

Via Airports - Porbandar Airport is open to the public and has daily flights to the metro cities of Mumbai and Ahmedabad among other places. The airport is also used for military service. 

Via Railways - The district of Porbandar is located on the Western Railway Network of the Indian Railways. There are many daily local and express trains connecting it to the different parts of the State and the Country. 

Via Roadways - GSRTC ( Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation ) runs various buses connecting the district towns, villages and other cities of the state and the country. Many National and State Highways pass through it.
