Basohli - The town on the bank of River Ravi

Basohli was formerly known as Vishwasthali. Basohli is located at an altitude of around 1876 fr above sea level. Basohli is a small town which is located in the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. Basohli is situated on the bank of the river Ravi. Basohli town was founded in 1635 by King Bhopat Pal. Travelers from all over the country visit the Basohli town to see the amazing old stone carved idols and miniature paintings which are also called Basohli Paintings (Basohli school of Pahari Painting). The Battle of Basohli was brawled in this Basohli region.
