Ajmer District, Rajasthan

 The district of Ajmer lies in the center of the state of Rajasthan. It is one of the most popular tourist places in the state due to being home to many places of religious significance to the Muslims and Jains. Ajmer is most famous for Ajmer Sharif Dargah, a tomb of the Sufi saint, Moinuddin Chisti that attracts thousands of visitors, irrespective of their religion. There are numerous Jain temples as well. The district is full of architectural grandeur due to the temples, forts  and mosques. Not to leave out the only temple of Lord Brahma in Pushkar that hosts the immensely popular Pushkar Mela that sees both national and international visitors. The district has a rich and varied cultural heritage that goes back centuries.

Via Airports - The nearest airport is Kishangarh at a distance of 28 kms with the second closest being the Jaipur airport at a distance of 138 kms

Via Railways - The district has two of the best trains of the Indian Railways passing and connecting it to Delhi and Jaipur - Shatabdi Express and Pink City Express . Ajmer is a major railway station on the Delhi-Jaipur-Marwar Ahmedabad-Mumbai railway line  and connects the district to many big cities like Mumbai, Agra, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Jaipur, Udaipur etc. 

Via Roadways - Ajmer city is located on the Golden Quadrilateral National Highway 8 and has many national highways such as NH 48, NH 58, NH 44I  pass through the district thereby connecting it to almost all major cities of the country. RSRTC ( Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation ) runs various buses connecting the district towns, villages and other cities of the state and the country
