Morbi District, Gujarat

The district of Morbi in the State of Gujarat gets its name from the city Morbi which literally means City of Peacocks. It came into existence on 15th of August in the year 2013. The district is well - known Industrial centre in the fields of Clock manufacturing, Sanitary ware / Ceramic Tile manufacturing as also a growing hub in the production of paper, specially Kraft grade packaging paper. It is leading in the above mentioned fields with manufacturing a wide variety of products be it clocks, wrist watches, digital clocks, e-bikes, home appliances, calculators, kitchen tiles, roofing tiles, bathroom accessories like washbasins, wash bowls, bathtubs etc. The tiles manufactured here have a distinct style, glaze, patterns, design and colours and are in much demand especially in the Middle East countries and Africa. The district is also rich in culture and history with beautiful palaces, historical monuments and temples.
