Jalaun district-Uttar Pradesh

 


Jalaun district
is a district of Uttar Pradesh, India. The district is named after the town of Jalaun, which was the former headquarters of a Maratha governor, but the administrative headquarters of the district is at Orai. Other major towns in the district are Konch, Kalpi, and Madhogarh.

Geography of Jalaun-
It is on the Indo Gangetic Plain alluvial lowland and is bounded by the Yamuna River to the north and east and by the Betwa River to the south.The Betwa Canal system provides irrigation water for extensive agriculture. Crops include wheat, gram (chickpeas), and mustard. There are acacia tree plantations near the town of Kalpi.

1) Lanka Minar-


Kalpi is a town and a municipal board in Jalaun district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is on the right bank of the Yamuna. It is situated 78 kilometre south-west of Kanpur from which it is connected by both road and rail.

2) Chaurasi Gumbad-


Chaurasi Gumbad (84 domes) is a square nine domed structure in a walled courtyard with two graves under central dome. The probable date assigned to this gumbad late 15th or early 16th century. This Islamic architecture is believed to be a tomb of one of the Lodi Sultan. This monument is a royal tomb from Medieval times (of Lodhi Sultans). In the ancient times Kalpi was known as Kalpriya Nagari. As time passed the name of the city was abbreviated to Kalpi. Kalpriyanagari is an ancient Indian city. It had a sun temple of the size of a football ground or even larger. It was in 4th century that King Vasudeva founded Kalpi. The town is said to be protected by Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh, the three chief Hindu Deities.

3) Fort Rampura-


Rampura fort that stands majestically as the back drop of the village Rampura Stoically defying its decadent grandeur that time has wroth. Its sheer magnificence lies in the way it has been built on the rugged terrain of Bundelkhand. It was built by the Kushwaha Rajputs. One fourth of the fort has succumbed to the erosion of time and one half of the fort is the living quarters of the present owner who plans to open the fort to visitors who want to experience a few days of feudal rustic living surrounded by the silence of the ravines and forest.

 
4) Ved Vyas Temple


-Ved Vyas Mandir Kalpi is a building or space for the exhibition of art, usually from the museum's own collection. It is privately owned and accessible to everyone or subject to restrictions.

How to reach-By Air – Kanpur  Airport is located in Chakeri Kanpur , about 115 kilometers from the city orai. Daily flights to Delhi .
By Rail – Orai is serviced by North-Central  Railway Network, Orai Station 5 km from the city center.
By road – Orai It is well connected with major cities like Agra (300km), Kanpur (105 km), Jhansi (105 km), Bus and Taxi service available here for many city.

Lucknow- The city of Nawabs

 If Benaras is the holiest city of in India and is the jewel of Uttar Pradesh then Lucknow would be the crown in which the jewel is encrusted.As the city flourished in leaps and bounds during the eighteenth and nineteenth century, it soon became the artistic and cultural centre of India under the leadership of the Nawab of Awadh.Lucknow is the heart of the art, cuisine, dance, culture and music of North India. It was the cradle of the Hindu-Muslim-Sikh symbioses that made India great. Lucknow is the home of Urdu, Hindustani and Hindi languages.The city has been given various other names too, such as The Constantinople of India, Shiraz-i-Hind and the Golden City of the East.

History


The history of Lucknow is as wonderful as its defination.. it was the capital of Awadh Pradesh and was administered by the Delhi Sultanate during Mughal rule. In the later stages, it was given to the Nawabs of Awadh.After Lord Clive defeated the armies of the Nawab of Bengal, Nawab of Awadh as well as the Mughals, it went under the rule of the East India Company. In the year 1857, it went into the hands of the British Empire.

With the support of Maulana Abdul Bari of Firangi Mahal Lucknow, the Khilafat movement gained a lot of momentum and formed a solid footing in the city. In the year 1920, Lucknow was declared the provincial capital of the United Provinces, later known as Uttar Pradesh.

Any cotton-embroidered article that comes from Lucknow" might be the most satisfactory definition of Chikan today.Chikan, in the literal sense means ’embroidery’. This traditional embroidery style is one of Lucknow’s most ancient and well-known art forms, believed to be introduced by the Mughals.One of the most prominent features of the Lucknow chikankari work is the stitches. Each and every stitch is done to perfection and the neatness in the work is hard to find elsewhere. The delicate and artfully done hand embroidery gives the garment a look of richness and skillfulness.Lucknow chikan embroidery enjoys popular public attention. Apart from being a traditional, go-to garment for most religious gatherings and festivals, the art also found its way to the Indian ramp and glamour world. One of its first and most famous appearances on the Bollywood screen was in the Indian film Anjuman, starring Shabana Azmi and Farooq Shaikh. The movie is set in Lucknow and deals with exploitation of women and the problems that the local chikan embroidery workers face.

By roadway-Lucknow is on the intersection of National Highways 24, 25 and 28 running east, west and south. It is well connected with major cities like Agra (363 km), Allahabad (225 km), Calcutta (985 km), Delhi (497 km), Kanpur (79 km) and Varanasi (305 km.

Balrampur - Uttarpradesh

 


Balrampur is a city and a municipal board in Balrampur district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is situated on the bank of river Rapti.The district has very rich literary heritage. Famous Urdu poet Ali Sardar Jafri was born here in 1913. He is among the only four Urdu poets who got the prestigious Jnanpith award (other three are Firak Gorakhpuri, Kurtulain Hyder and Shaharyar).

1.Koilaba-Koilaba is a famous tourist place in Balrampur. It comprises of adventures and natural sightseeing. If you are a lover of Nature and this is a must visit site. Koilabas attracts tourists from around the entire state and it provides them peace and inner contentment. If you are in Balrampur then this is a place you should visit.


2.Suhelwa wildlife sanctuary-The forest is one of the oldest forests in Uttar Pradesh and was given the status of a wildlife sanctuary in the year 1988.With a buffer zone of 220 sq.km, the sanctuary is known for affluent flora and fauna making it one of the top tourist attractions of Shravasti. The fauna found in the sanctuary includes Leopard, Tiger, Bear, Wildcat, Wild Boar, Sambhar, Spotted Deer, Nilgai, Barking Deer along with Monkeys of different types.

3.Bijlipur Temple-It was made of red stone with exquisite carvings for which stone masons were employed from Rajasthan. There is no idol in the main temple. There is a deep hole in the ground which is covered with cloth and prayers to the Devi are performed over it.

3.Shree Alakhnath Temple-This temple is mainly dedicated to Lord Shiva.The temple is of the four temples located in the four corners of Bareilly.The temple is always alive with devotees turning from one shrine to another, offering prayers. Interestingly, there are animals like cows, goats, and camels that sometimes walk amidst the crowds in the temple center.

Amethi-lets explore this place.

 Amethi is a town in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is a major town of the Amethi district, in the Faizabad division.Amethi has four tehsils Amethi,Gauriganj,Musafirkhana and Tiloi. Amethi is a major town of the district and also a municipal board. Gauriganj is district headquarter.


The total geographic area of the district is about 2329.11 Sq. Km.  North side of the district is bounded by Faizabad district, south side is bounded by Pratapgarh district.It is also called the agrarian area as the main occupation of the people here is agriculture.

Amethi is also famous for the temple called Hanumangarhi and a mosque both built about hundred years ago. About three kilometres north of Amethi there is a tomb of famous poet which is in Ram Nagar, Saint Malik Muhammad Jayasi where he died.

Amroha

Amroha is one of the four provinces of the Moradabad sub-division in Uttar Pradesh, India.It was earlier known as Jyotiba Phule Nagar. The town of Amroha has a rich and interesting history. The town of Amroha was most probably founded during the rule of Raja Amarjada of Bansi Dynasty in 479 B.C. It was carved out of the Hastanapur.Tarikh-i-Amrohi is an important manuscript that informs us about the history of the town.

Amroha got its name from Aam i.e. Mango and Ruha which is a variety of fish that is found in abundance here. This small town is actually the hub of manufacturing Dholaks and Tablas.There are numerous small-scale manufacturing units that produce Dholaks and other percussion instruments. They use the wood from Mango and Sheesham trees to carve out the multiple sized and shaped hollow blocks, which are later fitted with animal skin, mostly goatskin, to create the instrument. 

Amroha city is also recognized for the readymade garments manufactured here. This district has so many units of readymade garment manufacturing.
Many people from urban and rural sector of Amroha are connected with this industry in different forms.

1.Vasudev Mandir and Tulsi Park-Vasudev Temple was built around 500 BC and it is also known as Baba Batukeshwar Dham. It is among the Sacred places in Uttar Pradesh. This temple is having a 51 feet long Shivalinga which attracts the tourist. The calm and peaceful atmosphere of the temple makes it a famous tourist attraction of this place.

2.Bayen ka Kuan-It is said to be built by a king. It is very old and now abandoned but was full of water many years back.It's having a very attractive natural beauty and it attracts tourists from many places.

3.Dargah Bhure Shah-The Dargah Bhure Shah is situated on Joya Road Amroha and the distance between the Amroha City and Dargah Bhure Shah is 24 km.The Dargah Bhure Shah Amroha is situated in the shadow of the Red Fort. Fifty-five years ago, when someone first visited it, it was not a very well maintained place, but the temple was later rebuilt and looked better than ever.

Bijnor - Uttarpradesh

 


The city of Bijnor serves as a prominent pilgrimage destination in Uttar Pradesh for people from every major religion. This religious diversity began developing since the 18th century, as the city of Bijnor fell under the reign of many rulers, including the Mughals, the Nawabs and, finally, the British. Shrines, temples and churches of Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism are seen throughout Bijnor. Bijnor is famous for-

 It is widely considered to be a historical structure that is associated with the epic Ramayana. Other prominent temples in the city include Radha Krishna Mandir, Panchmukhi Mandir, Shiv Mandir and Chamunda Mandir.


Ganj is situated along the banks of the river Ganges, about 12 km from the town of Bijnor. This place is known for numerous ancient ashrams and temples near the river.
