 The district of Barmer lies in the western part of the State of Rajasthan. It is in fact a border district sharing a border with the country of Pakistan. It is also a part of the Great Indian Desert, Thar Desert and has extreme variation in temperatures ranging from 0 ℃ in winters to 51 ℃ in summer months. 

India's first underground military airbase, Uttarlai is situated here.

 The district of Bharatpur lies to the extreme east of the state of Rajasthan with a common border with the state of Uttar Pradesh. It has a rich cultural heritage and historical significance.  The district of Baran in the state of Rajasthan was formed on the 10th of April, 1991. Before independence it was a part of the princely state of Kota.
